Come see us at our second location opening in Timonium. The new location will open at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.

Welcome to Costas Inn Timonium

Triantafilos’ father, Costas, opened the Costas Inn at 4100 Northpoint Blvd. in 1971. The restaurant is known for its crab cakes and steamed crabs, and consistently ranks as one of the top crab houses in the area, according to Baltimore Business Journal research. Even Oprah Winfrey’s longtime partner, Stedman Graham, prefers steamed crabs from Costas Inn.

This will be the first time the eatery has expanded.

“It’s a big deal,” Pete Triantafilos said. “We’ve always looked for expansion but this just seemed to be a good fit and a good opportunity.”

The Dundalk restaurant is expanding for the first time in its over 50-year history.

Costas Inn will take over the restaurant space by the Timonium Off-Track Betting Center at 2200 York Road. Though located on the second floor of the grandstand, the restaurant will be open to the public and will seat around 250 people. The new location will feature favorites from the original Costas Inn, including crab cakes and sandwiches, but no steamed crabs.

The restaurant will also feature a new draft system holding 12 beers on tap.
